A Certified Residential Builder (CRB) is a building or renovation firm that has met the high standards and requirements of the Nova Scotia Home Builders’ Association Professional Builders’ Certification Program.
All CRBs are members of the NSHBA. This affiliation allows the CRB to keep up-to-date with the latest industry developments and trends.
CRBs are required to complete specific technical, safety and business management courses.
CRBs must earn a “Letter of Good Standing” from the Nova Scotia Construction Safety Association. The requirements of the Provincial Departments of Labour and Occupational Health & Safety must also be met.
A CRB firm employs at least one “Certified Housing Professional” with a minimum of three years experience.
For your protection, CRBs carry liability insurance of at least $1,000,000 and they must be in good standing with the Workers’ Compensation Board. New homes are covered by an industry recognized third-party warranty, such as the Atlantic Home Warranty Program. Renovations are warrantied for a minimum of one year by the contractor.
When you decide to hire a contractor to build or renovate your home, you want the confidence and peace of mind offered by a dedicated, skilled contractor.
