Dartmouth Project
This project
that Added Spaces Renovations undertook
in the Dartmouth area took eight weeks in which to complete.
Added Spaces
Renovations was called to provide a downstairs bathroom for a gentleman
whose medical condition compromised his ability to climb stairs
and access the upstairs facilities (see
photo 1). A small addition was constructed (see
photo 2) off the side of the existing house to provide the
floor space that was required, along with the installation of plumbing
to make the addition serviceable. Additionally, the existing deck
was modified and expanded (see
photo 3 & 4) to be wheelchair friendly and join together
two of the home's point of access.
Construction
was industry-standard, with special attention to features for the
physically-challenged, such as easy to turn lockset handles (see
photo 5) and ensuring flush floor surfaces.
Though small
in scale, this addition made it possible for this to continue to
meet the homeowner's needs. The changes undertaken by ASR provided
our client with the option of staying in his home, rather than be
forced to relocate to a home that better suited his special challenges.
