At times, you may think that a home is irreparable and that it may be better off torn down and a new home built in its place. The renovation that Gillis TIM-BR Mart completed in the Sydney area was a house just like that before they finished the project and gave the house a complete new look on the exterior. The exterior was a multitude of colour, broken boards and patch work to cover any deficiencies that had arisen over the years (see photo 1). The homeowners wanted a more unified look for their home that would not only create a better living space, but would also change the exterior of the home and make it more appealing to the family as well as others. The double windows on the front of the home were reduced to single windows to allow for less of a chance to allow for drafts within the home during the colder months. As well, the entire exterior was re-sided with vinyl siding to create the new look for the homeowners (see photo 2). Changing something as small as the siding on the exterior of your home to incorporate a more modern look can completely transform the look of your existing house and make it look significantly better in the end, as you can tell from these photos.
